We all know the essentials that have to be there in every body builder’s diet. Proteins are required as they act as body builders and hence very important in muscle building. They can be gotten from beef, pork, chicken, eggs, fish, beans among others.
Carbohydrates are required to provide the body with the energy it needs to do all those tedious work outs. Fats are required but in small amounts as they form an alternative source of energy when metabolized. Water is also an essential part of the basic diet for everyone and not just body builders. Of course it is very important to rest both while sleeping and also in-between workouts.
Apart from these, there are three more things which not many people know about but have really tremendous results.

1.Fish oil

Am sure you wouldn’t have guessed this one in a million light years! Fish oils are rich in Omega 3 fats which are known for their ability to facilitate healing of damaged tissues. Omega 3 is a type of fatty acid that is polyunsaturated. Polyunsaturated fats help in maintaining cell membranes and also maintain the condition of nerves and arteries. They also help in maintaining healthy and normal growth patterns. Omega 3-fatty acids reduce the levels of low density lipoproteins (LDLs) and triglycerides in the blood, an excess of these two may lead to the development of cardiovascular diseases. LDLs especially, are the worst type of cholesterol you would want in your body. HDLs contain way less cholesterol, and they scrap off the cholesterol deposited on the walls of the arteries and take them to the liver to be broken down further.

Apart from this, fish oil is also very helpful in the recovery of the body from rheumatoid arthritis as well ulcerative colitis.

2. Coconut oil

Coconut oil is a type of saturated fat; it hardens at room temperature. It is composed of what is referred to as medium-chained fatty acids. This means that its digestion and absorption into the body is very easy. It’s suitable for weight loss because it’s easily converted to energy once digested.

Its thermogenic property causes an increase in the body temperature which turn increases the body’s metabolic rate and also increases its energy levels.

It contains lauric acid, which acts both as an antibacterial as well as an antivirus. It is helpful in the prevention and fight against diseases.

3. Coenzyme Q10

Coenzyme10 as the name suggests is a coenzyme that assists the body’s natural enzymes to function at optimal levels. It’s mainly based in the mitochondrion membranes. In actual fact, it is coenzyme10 that is responsible for the conversion of food to energy. It is thus is very essential to the body builder. It is also responsible for the transport of oxygen. A deficit of this coenzyme not only leads to a reduction of the body’s energy levels, it also causes suffocation of the cells as they won’t get adequate supply of oxygen. It is worse for a body builder as he needs more of both oxygen and energy.
With these 3 tips, you’re sure to notice positive change as you work out.
