If you want to pack on a few extra mass then you are in the right place. This article will demystify how to put on mass by equipping you with the proper guides to follow in your road to success.
1. Apply free weights when performing heavy sets.
There are machines which seem to be very heavy when lifting, but take note that most of this machines fail to involve the ancillary muscles. However when dealing with free weights most of the ancillary muscles are involved and therefore this ensures that you build a lot of compound mass.
2. Employ compound movements
When you want to build mass the main determinant of your success is the routine with which you are performing your exercises. Compound movements are very effective when it comes to building mass because they ensure that all muscles are involved in the process. Compound movements include bench presses and squats.
3. Look for areas which need improvement.
You should be looking at the mirror from time to time in order to gauge how your body physique is progressing. Carefully consider each muscles group of your body so that the next time you hit the gym you already have in mind the parts of your body which need improvement. Always start your training with barbell movements which should precede dumbbells and not vice versa.
4. Experiment with a few mass building exercises so that you can determine which best works for you.
When I started body building I focused mostly on squats and at some point I discovered my legs were not growing at the rate I wanted them to grow. Then luckily I my gym partner pointed out my mistake, I soon realized that my hips and lower back were taking much of the stress. I then changed my routine and instead of performing the squats I began doing leg presses and a little bit of hack squats. I was able to realize tremendous muscles growth in the legs within no time.
5. Always avoid injuries as much as possible.
There are certain exercises which are very dangerous to perform. Flat bench presses and squats have a very high risk potential especially if you are not training with a gym partner. If you are not able to get a good gym partner I recommend you stay away from these types of training routine because they could jeopardize your body building career.
6. Avoid overtraining.
I can not emphasize enough how overtraining could make you lose muscles. When you are training in the gym you should ensure that you do not go beyond muscle overload. You only need to attain muscle overload because at this point your muscles have acquired enough break down necessary for it to grow. Overtraining is also very dangerous because it could make you get gym injuries especially when you are very fatigued.
7. Take your calories.
This is very essential when you want to gain more muscles. Calories provide the body with energy, which is very important to do the heavy lifting.
