There are many people who fail to succeed in bodybuilding simply because the diet they are taking is not tailor made for bodybuilders. If you want to achieve your bodybuilding goals you need to change your diet as well. Normally if you are a bodybuilder you could be looking to attain massive muscles or simply to attain lean body muscles. Whichever the case if you want to increase your muscle growth, you need to go on a special diet which will help you achieve this purpose.
The first thing you need to know is that for a bodybuilder the amount of calorie intake should be more than the calorie intake of an ordinary being. The reason is because, bodybuilders are required or rather expected to undergo intense training and therefore this requires plenty of energy. Calories are the fuel used to generate energy in our body, and therefore it is very vital to increase there percentage in our diet. If you do not increase there percentage then this means you will not be able to undergo intense training in the gym. Imagine going on a road trip to a place which is located at a very great distance. When you plan to go on such a long road trip, you will fuel your car full tank so that you do not get stuck along the journey. This is the same case with calories, if you do not take plenty of it your training intensity and endurance will be affected.
There are various sources of calories which include; carbohydrates, proteins and fat. A bodybuilder needs to ensure that they maintain a proper blend of carbohydrates and proteins because they usually offer best results in terms of increasing muscle growth when they are served together in one meal.
If you did biology, then I bet you can recall that proteins are the building blocks of muscles. I know you have had this statement somewhere else even if you did not do biology. Well if you try to succeed in bodybuilding without proteins will be like trying to build a house made of bricks without first acquiring the bricks. If this analogy does not give you a clear picture of just how important proteins are when it comes to muscle building then I don’t know what will. There are very many sources of proteins but the best sources for a bodybuilder include; chicken, the white part of an egg, cheese, milk, red meat, legumes, beans, and fish. Red meat and certain types of fish such as salmon are especially important for a bodybuilder because they contain omega three fatty acids. This nutrient is useful in enhancing the sensitivity of muscles to insulin intake, promoting the storage of glycogen, and also enhancing the absorption of amino acids by the muscles.
Carbohydrates are also a very good source of calories for a bodybuilder. This is because they contain glycogens which are very important for bodybuilders. A bodybuilder needs to take both simple carbohydrates and complex carbohydrates. The best time to take simple carbohydrates is after training while complex carbohydrates should be taken before training.
