1. A professional bodybuilder does not take steroids
This myth is normally propagated by professional bodybuilders and the majority of body builders you see on TV had to use pro-hormones and steroids to look the way they do. If you are sitting at home hoping to look like the professional bodybuilders on TV without using any enhancement pills then this is wishful thinking.
2. For you to make progress you need to train a minimum of three times a week
This is not true at all. There are people who have been able to transform there body by working out once a week. The economy nowadays is very pathetic and people have to hold two jobs to put food on the table. If you are one of these people then you probably don’t get enough time to go to the gym. You can do this by working out each body part separately, and training each body part separately during the week.
3. You need to eat massive in order to increase body mass
There is a common myth among body builders that in order to grow big they need to eat massive meals. The most important facet when it comes to increasing body mass is not the amount of food that you eat but the quality of food you are eating. Many people are not able to increase there body mass, because they eating the wrong kind of nutrition. If you want to increase you body mass you need to go on a diet which comprises of plenty of calories. What many people fail to realize is that bulking of body mass requires an input of proteins, carbohydrates and fat in the diet. Proteins are the building blocks of muscles and therefore your diet should incorporate plenty of it. When you undergo intense training in the gym you are damaging your muscle tissues in the process. When the muscles tissues are destroyed they need to be repaired and this is where proteins come in. Proteins help the muscles to repair themselves.
4. Intense aerobics are the best when it comes to losing fat permanently
When it comes to losing fat permanently, weight training is usually more effective than aerobics. This might surprise many people but in reality weight training can help you lose body fat even when you are asleep but aerobics can not. Weight training will help you lose fat permanently due to the increase in lean body muscles. Muscles are active tissues and as such the body needs a lot of energy to be sustaining them. This will therefore lead to more calories being used up leading to a decrease in body fat.
5. Low calorie diet is the most effective way of losing fat
This is not the case at all when it comes to losing fat. Such diets will only trigger the body to go into starvation mode. The body will thus try to preserve energy by burning up muscles instead of fat to generate energy. Therefore your body muscles will be depleted and your body fat will increase.
