All of us dream of attaining that perfect shape. We do all within our reach to ensure we have that shape we brand perfect. We exercise regularly but at the end of the day still have weight problems. The number of calories in food is a measure of how much potential energy is contained in that food.
These calories are burned by our bodies to their stored energy for use. All the excess calories that are captured and stored are converted into fat. It only takes 3500 calories to create half a kilo of new fat. So if you are taking about 500 extra calories daily, that translates to 3500 extra calories per week.
Since it is so easy to take in 500 calories from just one ice cream cone, you can see why wait gain is completely effortless in today’s society. If you starve yourself, your body utilizes 1800 calories per day while you take in no calories. So for every day that you starve there’s a deficit of 1800 calories. You would loose about quarter kilos of fat every two days.
At rest, it’s estimated that our bodies burn 26 calories for every kilo you weigh. For example if you weigh 68 kg, your body uses only about 1800 calories per day to all you have to do to stay alive. The human body is the most efficient in the use of these calories because even when exercising, the body remains amazingly efficient when it comes to turning food into motion.
This level of efficiency is perhaps the main reason why its so easy to gain weight, especially for those of us who are 30 and above. The most effective way of checking weight is by consuming fewer calories per day than what your body needs. This is the concept behind most weight loss diets.
What you need to loose weight is a sustainable diet and exercise plan that lets you enjoy normal life, eat normal food in a normal way and still maintain a normal health weight.
Also try and eliminate all calories that come in through drinking by drinking only water. Liquids like Coca-Cola, orange juice, beer bring in lots of calories yet have absolutely no effect on your appetite. You take in 140 calories when you drink 300mls of orange juice but it does nothing to curb your appetite. Eating the orange instead fills your stomach making you take in fewer calories.
Eliminate white sugar, cookies, cakes and fried foods in whatever form. Fats from deep-frying impart lots of unhealthy calories to these foods. Replace high-density foodstuffs with those that have low density. A cookie is a high density food because it contains lots of sugar and fat, so its lots of calories in a small package.
Aerobic exercise is equally very vital because it helps control weight loss by increasing the number of calories you burn daily .Exercise and workout for about 30 minutes on a daily basis. You can also fit micro exercise into your schedule, instead of taking a car at the stage you can walk some distance, instead of using the lift, do the stairs, walk some distance daily, it helps. All the best as you try the above and have that desired shape.
