The simple term “bodybuilding routines” entails much more than the name suggests. Whether you’re someone wanting to add muscle weight, lose fat weight, get prepared for a sports season, or just want to be able to wake up feeling energized, a specific plan needs to be followed. Before getting into different routines and how they work, it is important to note that both proper diet and rest play a vital role in any routine’s maximal outcome.
You can work out for several hours a day, but if the after-workout meal consists of fried or oily foods you can bet that the desired results will be almost impossible to achieve. Likewise, if you compare someone who’s getting only a few hours of sleep per night to someone who gets the recommended eight or nine hours, whose body and muscles do you think will be more prepared to exercise? Diet and rest are very pivotal in the effectiveness of a workout routine.
Many of us who frequent the gym like to focus on lifting weights in some way, as they play a pivotal role in almost every type of routine. When trying to gain muscle weight, the best routines revolve around being consistent in exercising muscle groups. For instance, if you need to add some bulk to your arms, it is imperative to maintain a workout schedule in which the biceps and triceps are exercised one to three times a week, making sure they receive proper resting time in between workouts.
Cardio workouts are a bit different in that an individual doesn’t need much, if any, resting time in between. It’s actually very healthy to get some kind of cardio exercise daily, be it walking, running, biking, or anything else. If someone is utilizing this routine to lose weight, it is essential to get as much cardio into their day as possible. This is where putting in the effort really shows. Someone can use all the diet pills shown on TV, but without exercise, they are useless. Just as with building muscles, sticking with the routine will in time yield results that leave you in awe when you look in the mirror.
Typically anyone who is gearing up for the upcoming sports season uses a grueling combination of both weights and cardio, being careful not to overdo either one. Especially with contact sports, the ability to have speed, endurance, and power is the mark of a champion. Normally these athletes will work very hard within a relatively short period of time to get into shape before the season starts. However, this is a very effective routine for the “common man” as well, if you can handle doing both the cardio and the weightlifting routines frequently throughout the year.
