If you do not use very heavy weights your progress will be very slow. Your training routine should also include techniques such as progressive resistance training and the use of compound movements. When undertaking compound movement exercises you should focus on using free weights so that you can be able to stimulate the growth of many groups of muscles at the same time.
You need to increase the amount of calories you take in your diet if you want to add body mass. There are various foods which are rich in calories such as carbohydrates, proteins and healthy fat.
