If you carefully examine every other sport you will not fail to hear myths surrounding that particular sport. Bodybuilding as a sport is not exceptional and it too is dogged by quite a number of myths.
There oldest myths such as “no pain no gain” and “spot reduction” have been forgotten and there has arisen other bodybuilding myths which have made many people fail in there bodybuilding career. This article will mention ten of such bodybuilding myths.
1. The best way to burn fat is by exercising for a longer period of time at a lower intensity.
This however is not true because what will determine whether you will be able to lose a lot of fat is not the amount of exercise you do but the amount of calories you burn during the exercise. When you walk first or run the more calories you will be able to burn each minute. However if you are a novice trainer it will be very difficult to maintain high intensity training. Therefore you need to start your training at a lower intensity and then gradually increase your training intensity.
2. If you do not work out very hard then you are merely wasting your time and energy.
This line of thought stems from the concept no pain no gain, which is a very old way of thinking which suggests that the training should only be physical. The best way to improve on your exercising routine is to first stop looking at it as just a means by which you can stay fit. Your approach and way of thinking about the exercise routine you use should change so that you can be able to reduce your level of stress and the risk of getting injuries at the same time. If your exercise routine is merely physical and you do not input any mental aspect then you are in deep trouble. The major reason why many people get gym injuries is because they neglect the mental aspect of the training which will enable you to stay more focused and use the right techniques when training. When you ignore the mental aspect in your exercise routine then you are more likely to suffer from gym injuries.
3. Yoga is not a demanding exercise
Many people tend to assume that yoga is not a demanding exercise; however you need to know that there are some styles in yoga which require applying both your physical and mental abilities. Such styles require you to seek assistance of a qualified trainer; otherwise you will end up injuring yourself.
4. Exercise is the only facet necessary to lose weight
This is not true you can’t lose weight by only exercising. You need to incorporate other important facets namely eating a well balanced diet and rest. The diet you take should contain all kinds of nutrients and you should not reduce calorie intake drastically as most fad diets propose. When you do this your body will go into starvation mode and this is not good as far as your weight loses progress is concerned.
