For a bodybuilder the diet regimen they take will significantly affect there ability to succeed in achieving muscle growth. There are bodybuilders who have not been able to achieve there goals because they committed certain dietary mistakes, which include;

1. Eating foods which are not balanced

A balanced meal for a bodybuilder is not the same as a balanced meal for a regular person. The two have very major differences. For a bodybuilder a balanced meal should comprise of; lean proteins, starchy and fibrous carbohydrates, no sugar and healthy fat. The proportions of all this foods will depend on the characteristics of the individual. For those people who are sensitive to carbohydrates they can reduce there percentage and substitute this with lean proteins. If they don’t do this they will end up gaining a lot of body fat.

2. Ignoring the importance of supplements

There are several shortcomings which occur as a result of our diets. There some nutrients which can not be derived from our normal foods and therefore they need to be supplied in bodybuilding supplements. Do not be frightened by the though of using supplements, almost every bodybuilder uses them but you have to be careful not to use steroidal supplements because they have dire side effects. When you are selecting the type of supplement to use you should go for the ones which are made purely of herbs.

3. A diet which does not contain a positive nitrogen balance

For the muscles to be able to grow, the environment needs to contain positive nitrogen balance. There are certain foods which contain very rich supply of nitrogen balance and they are proteins and carbohydrates. You should ensure that you take them after every four hours so that you can be able to grow your muscles. You could try taking protein shakes and small snacks comprising mostly of carbohydrates during the day. Athletes are especially encouraged to maintain a positive nitrogen balance because it will assist them to grow there muscles and increase there body strength for better performance.

4. Failure to drink plenty of water

The body comprises of 67% of water, this shows just how important water is to the body. For you to be able to avoid getting dehydrates you need to take plenty of water throughout the day. This will enable you to flush your system. When you do this you will be able to enhance the regeneration of the muscle tissues.

5. Insufficient proteins

The most crucial nutrient necessary to facilitate the building and regeneration of the muscle tissues are proteins. They are the building blocks of muscles and if you exclude them from your diet would be like trying to build a brick house without any bricks.

6. When you eat too much

This is also another common dietary mistake among bodybuilders who want to increase there body mass. They end up injecting the body with excess calories some of which the body converts and stores as fat in the body. Your calorie intake should just be sufficient enough to facilitate muscle growth.
