Common Misconceptions on Losing Weight
By Dane C. Fletcher
There are very many misconceptions which exist regarding the best methods on how to lose weight. If you have ever attended a seminar on how to lose weight you would agree with me, that you leave there more confused than you were before you attended it. Before you choose a weight reduction program it is highly recommended that you become aware of the misconceptions which are out there to avoid any disappointments.
Fast weight reduction concept:
Irregardless of what any commercial out there might suggest the concept of losing weight fast is not logical. Many commercials use this as a gimmick to get people to buy their products. They will actually go to the extent of using models to pose in their before and after pictures just to convince you that their product works. In reality they take the head of a person and using computer aided images put it in two different bodies and say one is the before picture and the other one is the after picture.
Another way of faking this pictures is they get someone who had a lot of weight, lets say 5 years ago is now lean to pose and in the before and after picture they explain that he lost all that weight in a short span of lets say 6 months.
If you are not careful enough you will find yourself popping pills so that you can look like those fake models. Believe it or not they are clever enough to convince you that their product is genuine even if they do not work on you. They will use such clichés as” The product works differently on different people, because everyone is also different” I mean come on do they actually expect us to buy this?
Well what about the runway models, who lose more than 10 pounds in a month? A lot of people ask this question; well you can be able to lose weight fast but at your own health risk. Most of these models practice very dangerous habits such as sniffing cocaine and heroine just to lose fat. This is not worth the effort if you ask me.
If you want to really lose weight you should do it in a safe and healthy way irregardless of how long it will take you. I mean what is the hurry, the harder the battle the sweater the victory.
In essence if you lose more than five pounds a week this could be very detrimental to your health. If you lose weight at this rate, then this simply implies that you are losing muscles and not fat. Lose of muscles and not fat could affect your muscle to fat ratio and if this is compromised then it could affect your body composition and posture.
The appropriate amount of weight you should lose in a week is approximately 1 to 2 pounds, as this implies you are losing fat.
Putting all this factors into consideration then we can carefully and with no doubt rule out the possibility of being able to lose weight fast without compromising your health.
