Parents always view with a negative bias any attempt by their children to take up body building. To most parents, body building is more of a street art than a profession.

If you don’t have a gym at home, you will find yourself going at a commercial service provider whose demand may be high depending on the time of the day. If it is in the evening, most of the available gyms in town would be expected to be flocking with fit-looking people in search for more fitness. This may also happen to be the time you are coming from school. Besides the busy schedule that most adolescents must commit to fully, body building must also be adequately facilitated for in terms of a diet. Adolescents have little or no say in what the diet is in their respective homes and usually have to eat what is provided.

Body building also needs equipments that are very expensive to an adolescent. The source of funds to start a home gym or to subscribe to a commercial gym and or club is a major limitation challenging adolescent body builders. Besides that, adolescents are in a stage of life where natural body hormones are normally in disarray. The body hormones are in the behest of inducing bodily transformations and this might in a way limit the success of a body building program. It is however advisable for the body building adolescent to take up body building exercises as a way of calming all the stress, fears and morbid energy that could otherwise result to the adolescent engaging in negative social behaviors like drug abuse and irresponsible sex.

Another key problem common with adolescent body builders is peer pressure and negative influence. Most steroid and performance enhancer users developed their abuse during the early days of their careers. Adolescents are exposed to a lot of misinformation and misinformed advice from their peers and also from others in the industry. The key is for each adolescent body builder to consult widely and only among expert body building trainers or counselors. Adolescent body builders must also learn to overcome the problem of hoping for far too much than is practical. Objectives of a body building program must at all times be maintained in the realistic horizon and adolescents should not expect to transform into muscle wielding champions after a couple of visits to the local gym. Impatience is and will remain the biggest problem adolescent body builders must deal with.
