There are many people nowadays who are obese. The reason is because people nowadays are so used to eating junk foods. Junk foods however contain are loaded with calories. When you have excess calories in your body, they will be converted into body fat and stored in your body. The other reason why many people are obese is because they have neglected to live a lifestyle which focuses on training. In order to be healthy and to feel healthy you need to be exercising on a regular basis. Aerobic exercises are very effective when it comes to losing weight for this purpose. There are many people who really hate doing this exercise because they do not see how it could help them gain muscles. You can not be able to have muscles which are well defined if you do not cut down your body fat.
In order to generate energy the body usually has two sources of fuel. Of the two sources of fuel glycogen is the most preferred. When you are training intensely in the gym, glycogen is the one which usually gets used up. Glycogen is stored in the liver and the muscles. The second source of fuel for the body is fat. Your body need to undergo very intense workout session for it to start using the body fat o generate energy. In order for your body to burn the fat sufficiently it requires lots of oxygen. The initial stages of your exercise usually contain minimal amounts of oxygen. Therefore the glycogen stored in your muscles and liver will be used to fuel the body at this period.
You need therefore to perfect your cardio exercises or else you will end up losing plenty of your muscles as a result of increased catabolic activities. When undertaking your cardio exercises you need to reduce the amount of time you do each session. There is a myth that prolonged aerobics will lead to lose of body fat. If you extend the session to more than 40 minutes then you are asking for trouble. Performing cardio exercises for more than 40 minutes will make your body to increase catabolism. When this happens you will start to lose your body muscles. As a result of the loss in body muscles your body metabolism will decrease.
The best time for you to perform aerobic exercises is very early in the morning. Do not take your breakfast if you have not done them. The body usually has very little glycogen when you wake up in the morning. Therefore the body will start burning body fat in order to generate the energy needed to sustain intense aerobic exercises in the morning. This will enable you to lose weight since your body is burning a lot of fat during the exercises.
Aerobic exercises are not meant for people trying to lose weight alone. If you want to increase your body mass, you should perform aerobic exercises since they will help increase your body endurance.
