There are many people who started off in bodybuilding with so much zeal but some months if not weeks down the line, they left. Never to be seen again. Others on the other hand have stack through it all and have even gone profession with it. Entertainment and sports are the two best paying industries right now. This should give a glimpse of just how enjoyable life would be if you made it to be the next Mr. Olympia. With the ever increasing number of celebrity advertisements, it is no wonder that within a year pros can earn up to 10 times what their price money was in just less than a year. If it’s the money, fame or good health that motivates, here is what it takes to beat all odds.
1. Know your goals and ambitions
Your goal will be your reference point and ill be your map as you navigate through bodybuilding. This means that your progress should be measured relative to what the end result is. This can be a source of encouragement when you’re making progress and can be a basis where you change some few things here and there if the results aren’t as good as you hoped they’d be.
2. Discipline
Can you remember the first time you walked into the gym? You had so many dreams and ambitions and the amount of energy and zeal that was pumping through you’re body made you feel like you could do all that in just that one work out session. Well, with the motions of life that zeal is bound to die. The only thing that will make you wake up early for cardio and still go for all your gym session is purely discipline. This is what remains when all the passion has died. If you want to know just how much personal discipline you have, check whether you can go for a full day’s fast. You need to cultivate personal discipline and this can only be done by training you’re body to do something not because it feels like it wants to but because that is what is expected of it.
3. Patience
Patience in very simple terms is not waiting in a hurry. When it comes to matter of the body like muscle growth and development, weight loss and weight gain don’t just happen overnight. A beer belly isn’t transformed into a ripped six-pack as soon as the clock ticks 12! You need to give your body time to transform into what your diet and training is leading it to. Besides ever heard of the saying that goes patience pays?
4. Enjoy what you do
Don’t look like someone has a gun over your head every time the clock goes off and you have to wake up early and rum around the neighborhood. Get some nice music that will put a silly smile on your face and cultivate an interesting bodybuilding. Check out the many bodybuilding chat rooms and forums where people meet to share their experience.
