The reason why many American adults as well as teenagers are obese is because they are living unhealthy lifestyles without knowing it. What causes obesity?

The reason why many people have become obese is because of the reduced physical activities as a result of machines and technology. Thanks to cars, many people rarely walk nowadays. Walking is a very effective warm up exercise. Thanks to desk jobs, people have moved away from farming and mining jobs which had a lot of physical activities.

3. Awareness

There are many people who are not aware of the dangers of being obese. There are many people who tend to underestimate the dangers of being obese some of which could be life threatening. Some of the dangers include; high blood pressure, strokes and heart attacks.

4. False advertising

The reason why people are obese also has to do with the various advertising companies. These companies will advertise products and claim that they are healthy and fat free which they are not. When a person consumes these products they end up gaining weight.

5. Smoking and alcohol

Alcohol and smoking will increase your cortisol levels. This will make your body to store fat and burn muscles. You should therefore remove this from your diet.

The things you should do to avoid obesity:

If you want to avoid being obese, you should undertake the following tips;

1. Eat healthy meals

If you want to fight being obese you should eat healthy meals. If you want to start eating healthy meals you should avoid eating high calorie foods. You need to do your own research to find out about the healthy meals available and avoid the bad ones.

2. Start exercising

You need to start exercising using weights as well as aerobic exercises. Weight training exercises will help increase your lean body muscles which will increase the rate of your body metabolism. A fast body metabolism will help you burn more calories. Aerobic exercises will also boost your body metabolism. You cannot lose weight if you do not undertake plenty if exercises.
