If you visit many high tech offices you will notice that most of them are filled with vending machines. If you are wondering where I driving at with this point, the answer is quite simple a lot of people have placed the reliance of quenching there thirst to drinking sodas and taking coffee. It is no wonder that people nowadays are very dehydrated and yet they do not even know, and we all these all to the vending machines. A lot of people go on there day to day activities without knowing that they are dehydrated. If you are a body builder or an athlete then this article will shed some light on the usefulness of taking plenty of water.
Do you know whether you are dehydrated? Did you know that the body of a normal healthy person loses about 8-9 cups of water each day through normal body organs such as the intestines, kidneys, lungs and the skin? Most people will consume about four cups of water in any given day. When you compare the amount of water intake and the amount of water outtake you will realize that most of us could be dehydrated and yet we can’t even notice it.
This becomes even worse when you are a body builder who has to do intense training while in the gym. The reason why you will find a body builder collapsing during a training session is due to dehydration. If you lose about six percent of your body water and you are undergoing intense the only thing you can expect is to collapse. The only way you can ensure that you are properly hydrated is through taking a minimum of six cups a day.
Normally you have other sources of water such as beverages and food and when we put into consideration the water coming from this sources you do not have o take twice as much water as you are excreting. If this was not the case then you would have needed to take a minimum of twenty cups to ensure that you are properly hydrated.
You should take note that it is not healthy to take plenty of water immediately after a meal. The reason is because water normally dilutes the stomach acids which are used to complete the digestion process. Therefore the body will experience slow digestion, and in order to avoid you need to drink water thirty minutes after taking your meal.
