Have you ever asked yourself what the epitome of bodybuilding is? Well to answer your question, it is not your body symmetry but your body mass. That is the reason why many bodybuilders struggle to increase there body mass. Do not think that increasing body mass is as easy as people claim it is, you have to be willing to go an extra mile as far as your body building intensity is concerned. However by the extra mile I do not mean you start taking steroids. For those of you who are not aware of steroids, steroids are synthetic hormones which have been produced to resemble the male testosterone which is responsible for producing the male characteristics.
When a person uses steroids he is able to increase his body mass very fast, a lot of professional bodybuilders take steroids for this purpose. Steroids have several health consequences such as; enlargement of the clitoris, shrinking testicles, low libido, low sperm count, impotence in men, loss of hair, growth of facial hair in women, coarse voice in women, irregularity in there menstrual cycle, increase in aggression, heart problems, liver conditions, kidney problems and sleeping disorders. If you want to build body mass the right way you need to follow the steps below;
1. Your diet should comprise of red meat and fish
They are a very good source of omega three fatty acids. If you are a bodybuilder seeking to increase body mass then you need to take plenty of this nutrient because they are very effective in sensitizing the muscles to be able to absorb insulin. They also enhance the absorption of amino acids by the muscles and foster the storage of glycogen.
2. You should not do aerobic exercises
The reason why you need to stop all forms of aerobic exercise is because they lead to catabolism. When the rate of catabolism outweighs the rate of anabolism you will begin to loss body mass.
3. Lift very heavy weighs
This is the only training regimen that has been known to lead to the increase in body mass. When you lift heavy weights with fewer reps you are able to create extensive damage to the muscle tissues which is necessary if you want them to grow. The muscles normally grow in the recovery process and become massive.
4. Take plenty of calories
Calories act as source of fuel for the body, and therefore when there levels are low you will not be able to train intensely. As mentioned earlier you cannot be able to become massive if you do not train intensely. However do overdo your calorie intake or it could lead to an increase in body fat. Normally the body converts excess calories into body fat and this will hide the muscles that you have been struggling so hard to build.
5. Rest
This is a very important ingredient to increasing body mass. Rest helps reduce the effects of catabolism so that you are able to increase body mass.
