gain mass How To Gain Muscle MassThe single theme dominating the health, nutrition and the fitness world is losing weight. The vast fitness products and services on the market target those people who are seeking to lose weight. Even the dissonant medical community comes together when it comes to the promotion of weight loss drugs, programs, and some surgeries. This is not such a bad thing because according to the Center for Disease Control, obesity could overtake cigarette smoking as an epidemic among the youths living in the US. There has been a lot of emphasis placed on losing weight, and this has lead to neglecting those people who want to gain weight.

The trouble of gaining weight

There is a common saying which says ‘lack of information is a very dangerous thing’ and this applies even more for skinny people. The available information on the web usually contradicts each other because the people writing them did not take enough time to research on ways of gaining weight. Most of these article writers will simply tell you to eat more instead of going into the details of weight gaining dynamics.

A lot of people are not able to gain weight due to misinformation and misunderstanding. This two words although closely related mean totally different things. Misinformation occurs due to poor quality information due to lack of adequate research and data analysis. Such misleading information could drive people to try out implausible weight gain programs. This weight loss programs could end up endangering the health of the individual. Misunderstanding occurs due to erroneous conclusions reached by these articles.
Despite all the above challenges, it is still possible to educate people on ways of gaining weight, which involves the three strategies below;

1. Appropriate nutrition

Your nutrition should comprise of proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and fat. Your calorie intake should comprise mostly of carbohydrates because they help in the formation of muscle glycogen. You take unprocessed complex carbohydrates such as potatoes, yams, oatmeal, whole grain bread and brown rice. Such carbohydrates are the best because they contain long chain sugars which are digested slowly by the body. Proteins are also important because they are the bodybuilding blocks of muscles.

2. Avoid long aerobic exercises

When you perform long cardio sessions you promote catabolism. When the body is experiencing catabolic state it breaks down the stored substances in the body so that it produces energy. When it does this your muscles tissues are also broken down together with fat in the process. Therefore to avoid the loss of muscle tissues you need to do high intensity but short cardio sessions.
If you lose a lot of muscle tissues you will not be able to gain quality weight. Quality weight involves increasing the percentage of muscles and not fat.

3. Weight train

In order to gain weight you need to do some weight training. As I mentioned earlier your main concern should be to gain more muscle tissues and not fat. You should therefore perform intense training so that you can increase you body muscles. This will help you increase your energy and improve your body composition.
