Many female bodybuilders just go to the gym, tone up their physique and never engage in any weight lifting exercise and if asked why they ignore weight lifting, they are categorical that what they don’t want is build huge muscles. Most females do not want to develop muscles and look more like the muscular men they see in the gym. They are ignorant of the fact that even if they tried to, they would never develop huge muscles. But the failure of ladies to lift weights during workouts is a terrible mistake. They are missing on the many wonderful benefits which lifting of weights can give a person. This terrible female developed myth associated with building huge muscles has created immense fear on women, making them to refrain from training with the available weights which is detrimental to their overall well being and overall body fitness.
It will be absolutely insincere to claim that females are able to develop big muscles, though they can do so only if they are taking special supplements with specific specially designed exercise programs. Most of the female bodybuilders whom many females see with muscles could be using steroids, substances of abuse which are fatal and banned in many countries.
The reason why females are not able to build on huge muscles is simple; because females lack the hormone testosterone, the male hormone, which encourages the body muscles to develop and grow. Females have 10-30% less testosterone as compared to men thus they will always find it really hard to grow big muscles, since not all men build huge muscles as much as they have the hormone.
Weight lifting has some crucial benefits that females affected by this myth of attaining huge muscles will just miss out. This fact is deeply rooted since even after the females have got the facts right, the fear of lifting weights is still ingrained in their psyche.
Lifting of weights will not build you more muscles, but the muscles will be a bit large but not as huge as that of bodybuilders. What happens is that the female body is toned up resulting into a tight, healthy, firm, desirable and attractive body. The kind that most females always crave.
Another benefit for women who lift weights is what the weights do to their bones. Weight training is a good prevention against osteoporosis a bone disease which is manifested in low density and porous bones. Females have higher tendencies than do men to acquire the disease. More so, females could suffer from osteoporosis as their age increase.
Osteoporosis increases the susceptibility of women towards fracturing of bones, which are very fatal. Females should then lay any fear and work on strengthening their bone density. As they increase their muscle tissues their bones will then adapt to this new development in muscle mass. Thus the bones will respond through an increase in bone density. Thus females will have a strong skeleton structure as well as reducing the high risk of the disease. Weight lifting won’t turn you into a man but will boost your well being and personal health.
