Is It Possible To Lose Weight and Consume Alcohol At The Same Time?
By Dane C. Fletcher

They say that beer calms the soul while singing love songs to your heart. Probably explains why you feel like you can almost touch the sky. Did you know that most jumpers who are thought to be suicidal were just simply drunk and wanted to fly? Trying to defy gravity is as possible as trying to lose weight with a dumbbell in one hand and a beer in the other; it’s impossible. Some people advice you to take alcohol that has lower calories, what I’m telling you is to do away with it, completely. Did you know that beer contains almost two tomes more calories than proteins and carbohydrates? This is a good thing right? WRONG!
While calories are what keeps your body going, empty calories are as beneficial to your body as watering a plant in the rainy season! It won’t do your body the slightest hint of good. What it does is replace the function of fats; which is to provide your body with fuel. Still don’t see the problem right? Well your body will first of all burn these empty calories before it even touches your fat. Since it gets all its energy requirements from the empty calories, the rest of the fat that doesn’t get burned gets stored. Of cause this means that you end up gaining more weight than you even had before.
I’m sure you’ve heard it being mentioned that alcohol is a form of birth control well to some extent that says is true. It has been observed that alcoholics have a less sperm count and lower testosterone levels as compared to men who don’t drink. Bodybuilders use steroids to boost their testosterone level, that’s how important testosterone’s are to them. Now imagine depleting the amount of testosterone in your body. It won’t kill you but you can kiss weight loss goodbye! Testosterone is responsible for causing the formation and development of muscles. The lower the level of testosterone in your body, the higher the amount of fat that’s stored up. This is simply because muscles burn down fat and since the development of muscles has been inhibited, less fat is burned but more of it is stored. Again you end up having gained more weight than you had when you embarked on weight loss.
Ever woken up after you had been drinking the whole night feeling like you can eat a full roasted chicken? This is probably because it increases your appetite for food. Let’s say you work out in the gym every day of the weekly apart from weekends. You meet up with a couple of your old college friends every weekend at the end of each week for a barbeque. Of cause drinks are on the house and are plenty to go around several times. By the end of the weekend, you’ve drunk gallons of beer and probably eaten the equivalent of three stuffed turkeys! Still wondering why you’ve been at the gym for 6 months with no visible change in your weight apart from the weight of your wallet? Conclusion, loosing weight with a beer in hand is FICTION!
