Muscle fibers are structured similarly and contain myoglobin. The difference is the method of their contraction and also the location, housing and release of their oxygen contents. All this is a result of the metabolization of energy. Muscle fiber types are organized in different fibers. The first are red muscle fibers contain more processing and information containing mitochondria, and obtain their red coloration from the presence of more blood vessels. Red fiber muscle types also contain their coloration from the oxygen storing potential. Another muscle fiber type are white fibers. They are the second type of muscle fibers that are colored white from their connectivity to the skeletal regions and the cartilage itself.
Both fast twitch and slow twitch muscle fibers sizes are determined by the action potential and the energy transfer speed. The larger muscles have less pathways, and are more compact. The smaller ones have more pathways, and more electrochemical connections to make and follow. The fast twitch fibers demonstrate the electrochemical movements, and present the electrochemical process at a more rapid release rate. The slow twitch fibers have a more concentrated and more visible number of mitochondria. Their red coloration and pigmentation gives them their color and enzymes in the mitochondria help them combat tiredness.
The process of oxidation defines the differences between muscle fibers. The red fibers have the both fast and slow oxidation completed within them. There are two different mechanical types of fibers within the muscle fiber categorization. They are basically structurally the same, with raised amounts of myoglobin, and a multitude of both mitochondria and capillaries. The type I red fibers generate ATP from the aerobic metabolism process and are performers in aerobic activities, such as distance running.
The type IIa red fibers are resistant to fatigue because of their fast twitch and quick completion of the oxidation process. There is a raised level of oxidized ATP produced chemical measured process’s. The splitting the chemical ATP within the fast contraction muscle fibers is more regulated. These types of muscles fibers are the locomotive movers of sports athletes that are found in middle distance runners and other endurance athletes, like those that are swimmers. The final type of muscle fibers are Type IIb White fibers. They have a small amount of myoglobin, a low amount of mitochondria, and a few blood capillaries. They fatigue easily and fatigue very quickly.
These three types of muscles sizes are determined by their operation movement. Muscles actually contain all three of these muscles types. It is the activity that separate and determine their size. Some muscle types, as the skeletal muscles are all three types. The conditioning of the athlete, the muscle fiber response time and also the availability of consumable oxygen at the activity level, are the factors that the muscles sustained energy potential and movement longevity are measured.
