Body building is a very competitive sport and that is why many people are usually stressed up when they take up bodybuilding. Therefore if you are a novice at bodybuilding do not be discouraged if you find yourself being stressed all the time. When you are working out hormones come into play and that is why you end up becoming very irritated by small things.
When you use steroids in your bodybuilding routine you will heighten the amount of stress you have. The reason is because steroids tend to cause hormonal imbalance in the body and when this happens you end up getting mood swings and depression.

Therefore the first thing you need to do if you are using steroids is to stop taking them completely. Not only will this help you reduce your stress levels but it will also help you avoid other major side effects associated with taking steroids such as; low sex drive, complications of the sex and reproductive organs, high blood pressure, liver complications, kidney complications, growth of facial hair in women, the lose of femininity in women as they begin to talk like women, increase in acne, insomnia, and heart conditions.

The first thing you need to do so that you can be able to reduce stress is to start thinking positive. If you concentrate a lot on the shortcomings of your bodybuilding progress you will only become stressed out. Positive thinking will go a long way in ensuring that you do not become stressed. Body transformation is not something that comes in a fortnight it requires patience on your part. Therefore avoid comparing yourself with other bodybuilders in the gym. We all have different body genes and therefore do not get stressed just because someone else is progressing at a faster rate than you. Learn to compete with yourself only and this will really help you to focus on your training. If you try to compete at the same pace with other bodybuilders in the gym you might turn to steroids so that you can be able to catch up.

The other thing you need to avoid is overtraining in the gym. Overtraining will lower your immune system and also place you at a risk of getting gym injuries. The leading factor why many bodybuilders are stressed is due to overtraining. This is because overtraining drains your energy both emotionally and physically. Therefore learn to quit when you feel your muscles have had enough.

The other way you can relieve stress is by spending time in the steam rooms if your gym is offering such facilities. If you’re gym does not have a steam room a cold shower will do.
Both of these methods are very good when it comes to reliving stress especially after an intense workout.

You should also rest between each workout session so that you can be able to reduce fatigue. Body fatigue also contributes to your stress levels. You should try and get at least 8-9 hours of sleep to ensure that your body is full rested.
