It’s a topic that all of us at one point have considered, but one that few actively pursue: muscle building. How can I find time to commit to it? What are the benefits? Why do some of those people in the gym take it so seriously? They are all valid questions, and likely ones that cross any person’s mind who is getting ready to embark on a fitness routine.
Regardless of how much time in a day, week, or month someone has available to commit to building muscle, as long as there is a pretty consistent schedule that correlates between exercising, eating right, and resting, you will see a change. Obviously the person that exercises more frequently, eats healthier, and rests more will see a grander improvement than the one that does a mediocre job in any category. And if you are someone that is only looking to build some muscle without doing any running or other cardio to accompany it, a twenty to thirty minute session every two to three days will surely suffice, though if you do have the time, more won’t hurt. Don’t kid yourself; if you’re serious about putting on some muscle, this is not very much time.
The benefits of muscle building are many depending on your own personal goals. Whether it’s the feeling of accomplishment that comes along with it, wanting to show off to your significant other or anything in between; there are all kinds of good reasons. You’ll also notice that completing common tasks become easier as your muscles build endurance, and that the overall energy level your body maintains is noticeably higher.
Anyone who has been to a gym has seen that guy: the one that is always there, despite the fact that he looks like he was chiseled right from marble. Excluding those that lift weights for some sort of career-oriented reasons, there are those that take muscle building very seriously. And not that it’s a bad thing; it’s just a hobby to them, like watching movies or working on automobiles is to anyone else. And most of them truly enjoy everything that comes along with muscle building, from the gym environment to the attention that is drawn to them due to their physique. It is important to note however, that many of these individuals started out just like you, in the sense that they did not think they had any time at all in their lives to build muscle. But from the decision to remove other, less significant activities from their schedules came the opportunity to truly capitalize on muscle building. It all goes to show that if you are serious about building some muscle, it only takes a little bit of commitment. And before you know it, you could be looking in the mirror at your own rock hard figure.
