pmXfit – The Ultimate Training System!
If you open up any muscle magazine, Sunday newspaper advertisement, or search engine browser window, you are often bombarded with offers for bodybuilding products of all types. Let’s take a look at some of the offerings and decide which provide the most value for your money.
Nutritional supplements
Protein powders and weight loss pills are the life blood of the bodybuilding industry. For over fifty years now, the bodybuilding magazines have arrived monthly with articles offering “new and improved” ways to move iron to make muscle grow. And for those same fifty years, readers have been forced to sift through at least half a magazines’ worth of advertisements. They started sketchy and bland, and today their quality is supreme- often eclipsing the production quality of the magazines. But in the end, the bodybuilding products they are selling are mostly ineffective, but somewhat useful. Protein powder, Mesobolin, and creatine have been proven to be nutritional supplements that have worked for generations now. Most of the others are just new twists that aren’t going to deliver much in terms of actual results.
Home weight training equipment
There’s nothing better than training at home in the comfort of your own garage while you watch the big screen, check your email, or just blast your favorite Metallica CD. If your home, lifestyle and preferences dictate it, explore the purchase of a power bench, Olympic weight set, and a set of dumbbells to ensure you never miss a training day!
Cardiovascular machines
Cardiovascular exercise is most effective when completed first thing in the morning upon rising from bed – which makes the purchase of a stepper or treadmill for your home one of the best bodybuilding products you can buy!
Gym membership
You can’t lift at the gym without paying your fee to train there, right? Look for early year deals or discounts based upon your career/trade as you secure this required bodybuilding product. Watch out for the “Add-on” features which can quickly push your $30 per month membership to $60 or $80 a month. Services such as unlimited tanning and personal trainer guidance can be achieved for free with a little reading in the sun – save your money for other more useful bodybuilding products!
DVDs & More
There is an entire new class of bodybuilding multimedia which wasn’t around five years ago – but is everywhere these days. Bodybuilders and powerlifters tote a cameraman around the gym to deliver to you their own insight on training and nutrition – and they sell them for $39.99 a pop. If such video provide motivation, you should go for it. But the information can often be found cheaper online, and many of the videos can be viewed on Youtube for free!
Safety equipment
This class of item is listed last, but may be first in importance. Weight training gloves, back braces, and knee wraps often cost under $15, but can save you from injuries that can cost thousands of dollars and keep you out of the gym for months. Be smart: Train hard and always use safety equipment when applicable!
