There are very many essential nutrients required when body building. But there is always a need to balance all the nutrients and provide them in sufficient amounts for the body to develop muscles. However, excessive intake of everything is not preferable since it serves to the disadvantage of the body builder. As the saying goes ‘too much of everything is poisonous’ and that is still the same principle used in body building. Proteins in the body are very essential in building the muscles as well as necessitating the repair of worn out tissues. But when it is in excess, the protein turns out disastrous for the body builder’s health.
There is a great misconception that, when body building, you have to concentrate on proteins deeply and feed the body with an excess of the same. But this is very dangerous when planning for your meals as a body builder. Too much of the nutrient protein makes the body to be overloaded and strained and in the long run, it leads to some malfunctioning of the body organs, for instance the kidneys. A lot of protein stimulates the production of ketones, and these are toxic to the body. This overworks the kidneys making them to work extra hard and strain to remove the ketones.
The body on the other hand looses a lot of water stored in the different organs and body building becomes even harder. This is because, there are chances that, when exercising and loosing water through sweat, there are bigger chances of becoming hydrated and even fainting due to less water stored in the body. To make things worse, the dehydration makes the body lose electrolytes in the end becoming weak, dizzy and possibilities arrhythmia’s increase greatly. These conditions still serve negative to a body builder bearing in mind that, they compromise the program with an individual having to skip some workouts now and then.
From all these, it is very evident that, excessive proteins are harmful to your health and they affect the body building process either negatively direct or indirect. There is therefore a need to learn on how to gauge the quantities of protein being consumed and this is well handled by your trainer or even a nutritionist doctor. There is also a need to understand that, the body is wholesome and it requires all the nutrients at all times and therefore, while planning for your body building diet program, ensure that, you have a well balanced diet to make the body stable and balanced in muscle development. Other mistakes people normal do when body building is on the issue of supplements taken during the day. These are normally referred to as protein shakes. The amount of proteins in that drink is quite high and therefore, the drink should not be like water, take now and then, a proper program must be set to handle the intake. In addition, do not forget that, even when you talk of excess proteins, inadequacies of the same, is not good at all for a body builder.
