Once the personal trainer has helped develop a plan, that’s when the hard work begins.

Begin with small weights. It may seem too easy at first, but one can become injured when starting out with heavy weights. Lift according to a schedule of reps and sets, as directed by the personal trainer. Add weight every week or so, after the muscles have adapted. Keep working toward the goal steadily. During this time, it is important to consume foods high in protein. Protein essential for the growth of new muscle tissues. Foods containing protein are meats, eggs, and beans. A good diet goes a long way in achieving goals in the gym.

Planning is everything in the gym. Eat properly so the body will have plenty of energy and nutrients to draw from. After training with the personal trainer, take care while exercising alone to prevent injuries. Injuries can delay progress. A muscle can be strained in one moment, but it will take days before it recovers enough for exercise. Women need not fear ruining their bodies by lifting weights in the gym. When done as instructed, weight lifting can help a woman life a healthier and more fulfilling life.
