Many people don’t really bother with the details concerning their nutrients. They just know that they are eating a lot of food in a wide variety and that’s about all they need to know. Knowing the details about your nutrients is like navigating through the deep waters with both a compass and a map! While you might still find your way without using them, there is also a high chance of you getting lost at sea. It’s the same thing with your nutritional health. Knowing the details about your nutrition will give you a deeper conviction as to why you need to eat healthy. It will also inform you of the dire consequences which an excess or a deficit of each nutrient so that you remain on the healthy side of life. That’s why I chose to write about vitamins. A lot has been written about them in general but very few people into the detail of the types of vitamins.

I said low fat not fat-free! There’s a very big difference between these two statements. I never advocate for doing away with fats. It’s simply ridiculous and very unhealthy. Ever heard of fat soluble vitamins and minerals? Well as the name suggests, they are very soluble in fat and are therefore absorbed into the body and also transported around the body with the help of fats as the medium.

These two categories are water soluble and fat soluble vitamins and minerals. Because of how evasive bodybuilders are when it comes to fats, I will dwell on the fat soluble vitamins.

There are vitamins and minerals in the body that are considered to be fat soluble in the sense that that they rely on fats for transportation. This means that for those strictly no fat eaters, they are likely to suffer a deficiency of these substances. As much as you may need to cut down on your fat intake because you want to loose weight, doing away with them will give you more problems to deal with than just the belly you want to flatten. You have to take some fat to ensure that these fat soluble vitamins and minerals are both absorbed and taken around the body.

These are vitamins that are soluble in fat meaning that they are transported around the body using fat as the medium. As much as you may want to remain lean by reducing on your fat intake, doing away with fat completely or nor taking adequate amounts of it means that your body will lack the fat to absorb and transport these vitamins. As much as you may be taking and even using supplements for these vitamins, not taking sufficient fats will only make you suffer from vitamin deficiencies. So just to le you know what your 100% fat free diet will cost you, here are some of those fat soluble vitamins.
