Q: What is guaifenesin and why is it in ephedrine products now? Do I have to worry about separate side effects from that?
A: It’s actually a nasal decongestant also, and is now in most over the counter cold meds. I believe it’s so that they can legally sell ephedrine – though I think it’s also something that prevents people from buying it to make meth and other nasty recreational street drugs. I don’t believe it can be isolated. But if someone else has more information on that, I’d be glad to hear it. I didn’t have much time to research the whole meth connection. It’s harmless though, with no additional side effects. Posted in: Supplements | | Comments (0)
