Many female bodybuilders just go to the gym, tone up their physique and never engage in any weight lifting exercise and if asked why they ignore weight lifting, they are categorical that what they don’t want is build huge muscles. Most females do not want to develop muscles and look more like the muscular men they see in the gym. They are ignorant of the fact that even if they tried to, they would never develop huge muscles. But the failure of ladies to lift weights during workouts is a terrible mistake. They are missing on the many wonderful benefits which lifting of weights can give a person. This terrible female developed myth associated with building huge muscles has created immense fear on women, making them to refrain from training with the available weights which is detrimental to their overall well being and overall body fitness.

Testosterone can never be ignored or not be spoken about anytime one thinks of cardiovascular exercises. It has so much to do with exercises that just ignoring it or how it affects the level of exercising would be uncalled for.

As we reach our 30s and 40s, the temptation to use hormone replacement therapy to boost your body’s lagging testosterone levels becomes greater and greater. When you’re in your twenties, you think about steroid use, but you never “need” it. When you’re 42 and your testosterone levels suddenly crash on you, the need for testosterone just to enjoy a normal sex drive or lifting prowess may facilitate the need to use artificial testosterone. However, before you jump in, there are a number of questions you should ask yourself.

In this world, it’s hard to find anything that everyone agrees upon. Even in the world of bodybuilding, where you’d think there would be some unanimity as far as what works and what doesn’t, we just don’t see it. Some bodybuilders swear by certain proteins, and others pledge their allegiance to any and all kinds. Some bodybuilders subscribe to high volume training, and some prefer High-Intensity (HIT) training which limits the sets. Some trainers stick with only heavy compound movements while many others see great gains from machines and cable isolation movements. In a sport where it should be very simple (Lift, eat, sleep, and grow!) there are certainly a wide variety of discrepancies. Except on one thing: All bodybuilders hate shots.

The male body acquires some changes that are termed as ‘masculinity’ when the person attains the age of puberty or adolescence. These changes are critical to the development of the person and as such they must be discussed in the context of bodybuilding because in a certain way they do influence the results that are acquired courtesy of the effort that the individual puts in this sport. It is because of these changes that the bodybuilder needs to be aware of certain aspects that will indeed be influential in making some decisions. The changes that we are discussing in this article are mainly due to the influences of the hormone testosterone.

Steroid are biochemically defined as molecules with three rings each containing six carbons joined up with a single ring containing five carbons. This means that majority of natural body hormones contain a steroid nucleus. Most steroids are lipid derivatives of cholesterol secreted by the human placenta, gonads and the adrenal cortex. Body building steroids are therefore those steroids that are synthetically derived from testosterone and which promote muscle development and bones growth.

We all know that professional bodybuilders are some of the most muscular, lean, and powerful people on the planet. They eat, train, sleep, and use drugs to become the best in the world. This is a fact. When they are competing, only one thing matters – being the biggest and best onstage. However, once they leave the stage, a new set of challenges arises.

Gyms are filled with men and women of all ages. With different ages come differing goals, and it’s important that trainers recognize the differences, train according to the stage they fall into, and respect those in differing stages. Breaking down each decade of life into general gym goals and pitfalls allows us to be more realistic about our own expectations in the gym, and recognize the successes of others as they move upward into the later decades of life.
