Leg day always starts with squats or leg press – more heavy, compound movements. Back day? You always start with deadlifts, chins, or rows – all of which are heavy, compound movements. Are you beginning to see a trend here? Ideally, we know that it’s best to allow the body to face down these important compound movements when we’re at our freshest, so that we can move the most possible weight. After all, we have relatively strong joints and tendons which can handle the challenge, and heavy compound movements are what stimulates muscle growth, right? This is not always the case.
