Bodybuilding is an area that can’t be completely figured out. You can’t read a book on bodybuilding that has every single aspect of it covered. This is because a lot of it is based on a person’s innovativeness. There are a few tricks here and there that people pick along the way that are simply out of this world but still serve the purpose. There are competitive pros that have discovered a few tricks here and there that have led to their success. They won’t share it with a single soul even if they had a gun pointed to their heads. If you were to get bodybuilders from different parts of the world to make for you the protein shake that they personally use, you’ll end up with a huge cook book that only deals with the different ways of making a protein shake. Since there is no standard way of doing things, there are quite a number of routes that will still land you at the same destination. Here is one of the secrets that probably most of you had no clue about. Pineapples.
Pineapples contain a substance referred to as Bromelain. It is natures very own anti-inflammatory drug that has analgesic properties. This is a common term if you have osteo-melitis, rheumatoid arthritis and other diseases of that nature. If you have ever had any health problems that required you to take anti-inflammatory drugs, then you will appreciate having a tastier and definitely cheaper version of it. Bromelain thus helps a lot in the recovery of injured tissues and helps a lot when it comes to the healing of sprains, strains, bruises and other injuries. It also helps to ease indigestion thus prevents you from constipating.
It is also rich in ascorbic acid commonly referred to as vitamin C. it is an antioxidant that not only protects the muscle cells from free radical damage but it also helps in the recovery and healing of worn out or injured tissues. Vitamin c is also engaged in the metabolism of amino acids specifically collagen. It also helps in the absorption of iron which is necessary for the binding of oxygen to hemoglobin.
Most of Bromelain is destroyed during the canning process and thus I will advice you to buy a fresh fruit. The best way to choose a fresh pineapple is by using your sense of smell. If it has a sweet tropical smell, and it doesn’t have any soft spots or any discoloration then it is a good fruit. If you have a nasty itch on your tongue every time you eat a pineapple, then it means that you haven’t removed the eyes completely. These are the thorny parts that are scattered around the pineapples surface even when peeled. There are many ways of eating your pineapple. I love having a salad that has sliced pineapples. You can grate some carrots and then cut pineapples into small pieces. It will give any salad that tropical taste. You can also use it in a fruit smoothie.
