pmXfit – The Ultimate Training System!
Bodybuilding is full of myths just like any other sport and so it is important to try and uncover them so that you do not end up failing in this sport. Some of these myths are so old that they almost seem real. One good example of such a myth is the saying no pain no gain. If you are practicing bodybuilder then I am sure you have come upon this myth when you were training in a gym. This myth is absurd and in fact it has caused many bodybuilders to over train. Other common myths include;
1. In order to develop your muscles fast you need to prolong your workout session
This myth has caused many people to lose muscles because when you prolong your workout session you will be enhancing catabolism. This is where you start losing the muscles you had already acquired.
2. Professional bodybuilders don’t use steroids
Steroids are synthetic hormones which enhance the development of muscles. There use has been prohibited in many professional sports including bodybuilding and that is why many professional bodybuilders refer to admit that they use them. If they are caught using steroids they may be disqualified from the bodybuilding competitions. If you carefully look at the body structure of a professional bodybuilder then you that there is no way they could achieve such a body physique through training the natural way only.
3. If you perform more than 15 reps you are toning your body
This myth is especially common among women who claim that lifting light weights with fewer reps is going to make them get a well toned body physique. They cringe to the thought of lifting heavy weights because according to them heavy weights are going to make them develop huge muscles. As a woman you should know that you have very different hormones compared to men. Women lack the male sex hormone testosterone and therefore they cannot become very massive. Therefore in order to get a well toned body it is not a must that you use light weights with many reps, you can also lift heavy weights with fewer reps.
4. You should eat big meals after working out
After working out you need to eat a massive meal I agree but not just any other meal. You need to ensure that your meal is loaded with proteins because they are the building blocks of muscles. You should make sure that you do not eat just any other protein but the protein you eat is lean proteins. Lean proteins are quality proteins because they will not make you add body fat. Other proteins which are not lean proteins usually contain plenty of fat which will make you ad weight.
5. Long cardio sessions will make you lose fat
When you prolong your cardio sessions you will promote catabolism. Instead of losing fat you will be losing muscles instead. You will lose weight but the weight lose will be as a result of lose of muscle tissues and not lose of body fat.
