The only disadvantage of being a novice bodybuilder is that you will get a lot of conflicting information on how you can be able to increase your muscle mass. 1. Eat A Proper Diet
As a novice bodybuilder you should focus on increasing the strength of your body muscles through proper dieting. As you probably know from your biology calories are the source of fuel for your body. They provide the necessary strength needed to train intensely in the gym. You should not expect to notice significant changes in terms of body transformation if the diet you are taking is the same as that one of an ordinary person. As a bodybuilder you are expected to train very intensely in the gym so that you can be able to develop your muscles properly. The intense training causes the muscles to wear and tear. In order for these muscles to repair themselves they need to be provided with adequate nutrients.

2. Combine Free Weights and Compound Movements
When training you have the option of using free weights or machines. The use of free weights is most preferred because it is very effective in causing muscle hypertrophy. For best results you need to combine free weights with compound movements so that you can be able to train more than one muscle group at the same time. There are various compound movements you can use such as squats, dips and lunges, barbell presses, chin ups and bench presses.

3. Utilize The First 30-minutes Of Your Training Well
The body does not have enough energy to sustain prolonged workout sessions. Therefore you should ensure that when you are in the gym your training is precise and to the point. When you are training the blood sugar levels normally fall after 30 minutes of intense training. Therefore you should ensure that you have trained the targeted muscles before the thirty minutes are up.
Avoid prolonging your workout session than necessary always.

4. Train Intensely
In order to increase your muscles mass it is important that you train intensely. Do not go to the gym to waste time. When you are in the gym you should ensure that each training session is very intense so that you can be able to develop your muscles.

5. Avoid Injuries
The factor which could greatly affect your chances of increasing your muscle mass are injuries when training. You need to pay adequate attention not to injure yourself during training because this could make you quit. You should therefore start by warming up before you do any intense training. You should also train in proper form and using the right techniques.
