bad food1 Understanding Eating Disorders Among BodybuildersEating disorders refer to the tendency of individuals, body builders especially, to eat fat too much or fat too little that is ideal normal or necessary. A body builder with an eating disorder will eat perpetually in complete disregard to the amounts of calories or even nutrients he or she is eating. Other will be scared of food, such that eating is endured with pain and regret. It is the over-eating tendency that is more common among body builders however, and that is the subject of this article.

When the eating disorder becomes routed as a habit, food becomes an addiction. At all times, especially after the midmorning, the body builder keeps on eating without ever stopping. Not only does he or she eat perpetually, but also volume. The volume density of the food eaten is simply gigantic. This is a condition to feared, avoided and solved if it has already been noted. The following are symptoms of an eating disorder that has already been ingrained as a habit in the life of the body builder.

1. The body builder looses out on the determination of calories taken daily. The body builder has no idea how much calories were eaten yesterday. In fact, the calories are no l9onger important, whet is taken to be of essence is the amount of food, in volume density.

2. Secondly, the body builder stops caring about the nutritional value of the food he or she eats. It is not a must that the meal be balanced nutritionally, or even for it to be nutritional, for as long as it is there to be eaten and it is sweet and delicious.

3. Though the eating disorder is not resolved or limited by any conscious action, the body builder usually feels very tense, upset and guilty even, while and after eating. That guilt prompts the body builder to eat even more, due to resultant stress and depression.

4. A positive effect of this guilt and stress is when the body builder hits the weight room. He or she works out hard and long. They evidently hit the highest intensity level possible, in a bid to justify his or her eating habits. In so ding they, burn many calories than would have been possible without the guilt. This is the reason why some body builders have chronic eating disorders for years but they still maintain their form.

5. The body builder is very defensive on what he eats, when he eats or how much he or she eats. He or she will rise up in arms the moment a friend, family or colleague tries to comment on the eating habit. The guilt within them propels them to justify everything, logically or not.

6. The body builder is anxious about what to eat next or a while later. Sometimes, the body builder is unconsciously planning on what to eat next even before finishing the meal at hand. Eating preoccupied with food is an indication that the body builder is far deep into the pit of an eating disorder.

If this symptoms are evident in your body building program, seek help immediately for you have a real big problem. If noted on your friend colleague, then you have to help them out, with support, care and patience.
