I don’t mean to be the fun kill because truth be told; alcohol is the life of any party. It not only makes every lady at the club a hot babe, but it also makes even the shyest guy feel like he can get any woman he wants. While of course this is a really good illusion, the one thing that I’ve been quite able to understand is this. Every drunkard wakes up in the morning with a nasty hangover and declares that they will never, ever drink another bottle of beer or glass of wine. That same night, they are all over shots of tequila and whiskey! They wake up with an even worse hang over, make the same resolution and the vicious cycle repeats itself over and over.
Alcohol has a profoundly negative effect on your kidneys which in turn greatly affects your body’s hydration. Well now you know why you feel like gulping down gallons of water the next morning after a night out of getting high on shots of tequila. Water is used by the body not only as its main waste disposal medium, but also as a temperature regulator, reactant in biological processes and a medium through which almost all substances other than waste materials are transported. These are just some of the functions of water in your boy. Now imagine the amount of chaos that exists in a body that is dehydrated. Just imagine the toxic environment that your body is functioning in by the mere fact that it doesn’t have the adequate amount of water it requires to remove the waste products.
If you’re thinking of losing weight, or gaining lean muscles then you definitely have to put that whiskey bottle down. It has nothing to do with the fact that you will get a huge beer belly or even worse, gout. It goes deeper tan that to your hormones. Testosterone is one of the most valuable hormones to a bodybuilder. It is directly linked with muscle growth which in turn is linked with the burning of fat. The fact that alcohol has been proven to reduce your body’s testosterone level, means that your rate of muscle growth and development is lowered which in turn lowers the rate at which your body is able to burn fat. Also, alcohol is the equivalent of flushing empty calorie into your system! Just because it ends with the word calories doesn’t mean that it is a god thing. What your body requires is the good quality calories which are easily broken own o release energy.
As for empty calories, they use more energy to break them down. Energy that could’ve been used to break down the fat you so desperately want to loose. The effects of alcohol and especially excessive alcohol consumption can range from bad skin to kidney and liver failure ad even cancer. Point is, this is one road you don’t want to go down, grab a bottle of water instead.
