When your muscles deplete it compromises the percentage of muscles to fat ratio. This in turn will affect your body composition in that you will develop a poor body physique. Your body weight will also increase since the body is neglecting the body fat and instead it is targeting the muscles in order to generate energy.

When you lose weight when you are undergoing such diets, then you need to be very afraid since the resulting weight loss is not due to loss of fat but due to loss of muscle tissues and bone density. When you lose bone density and muscle tissues at the same time, this implies then that you’re shrinking and not losing weight.

The loss of muscles leads to an overall decrease in body energy. Muscle tissues are important when it comes to performing difficult tasks.

Going on calorie restrictive diets will also lead to a decrease in body metabolism. When the body is in starvation mode as a result of the calorie restrictive diet, your lean body muscles will deplete. When this happens your body metabolism will also decrease since it is dependant on the amount of lean body muscles you have in the body. When your body metabolism is compromised you will experience an increase in body fat since most of it is usually burned through metabolic processes.
